What Makes You You
By
Reno Litterio

 Who are you?

Have you stood in front of a full-length mirror and while reflecting at the reverse image of yourself, asked the question, “Who am I?”

Go beyond the obvious personal physical stature, your ID and DNA. Have you ever given thought to what makes you, you?

From your every moment of being, you begin to absorb your environment. The first voice, the first human touch and the melodious and cacophonous sounds.

You are every emotional encounter.
You are every pain you have experienced.
You are every interaction with another.
You are every kindness you have shown.
You are every pleasure you have known.
You are all the anger and jealousy brought forth.
You are every romantic interlude.
You are every heartache and all the joys that have come your way.

What makes you you? All of the above. You are the sum total of all the mental, physical and social contacts that have formed from your very own personality and ego. That’s who you are.
