Seasons Renewal

Quincy
- Our four seasons that we experience, spring, summer, fall, and winter, gives us a choice in choosing our favorite. Some of us favor only one season, while others have two or more that they enjoy throughout the year.

A new season gives us a time to think about a new personal chance to focus on our self. Look in the mirror and examine closely the face staring back at you.

It’s not what it used to be because change is inevitable. Spring is a time to think about our aging process and what we can do to regenerate ourselves in maintaining our health and intellect to interact socially and with more vitality.

It’s no secrete that your lifestyle is the most important factor in living a long and enjoyable life. First and foremost what you feed your body is directly responsible for your health and well being. Eating foods that have antioxidants to neutralize free radicals is the key to good health. Remember that quality is more important than quantity.

Keeping fit through your favorite physical activity program, whether it’s the gym, fitness centers, or your own exercise equipment and walking will strengthen your muscles to enhance your energy and balance.

Staying socially active by keeping in touch with friends, joining senior groups to interact with new friends is also beneficial to living a long and full life.

Travel to places where you’ve never been before will widen your horizon and mind and lead to discovering a new you.

Laughter is one the greatest gift you have been given, use it. A friend of mine sent me this humorous story, as I write, I’m still laughing.

After retiring, a man goes to the Social Security office to apply for Social Security. The woman behind the counter asked him for his driver’s License to verify his age. He looks in his pockets and realizes he left it home. He says “I’m sorry, I left my wallet at home, but I will go and get it and come back later.

The woman says, “Unbutton your shirt”. So he opens his shirt revealing his curly silver hair. She says, “That silver hair on your chest is proof enough for me” and she process his Social Security application.

When he gets home, he excitedly tells his wife about the experience he had at the Social Security office. She tells him, “You should have dropped your pants. You might have gotten disability too!”
